Practice Leader
Keizan Genryo Jones, Osho, is a student of Meido Moore Roshi, who is abbot of Korinji Monastery in Wisconsin. Genryo travels regularly to do sanzen with Meido Roshi at Korinji. Genryo began Zen practice in 1993 at the Columbia Zendo in Missouri with Tim Jundo Williams, Koji. He entered Sogenji Monastery in Okayama, Japan in 1997, where he did daily sanzen with Shodo Harada Roshi for 3 1/2 years and received novice ordination in 1999. During this time he served as personal attendant to Sogenji’s retired abbot, Yokuin Ippo Osho, for 2 years. He received full ordination from Meido Moore Roshi in 2022.
PEOPLE WHO HAVE MADE OUR PRACTICE POSSIBLE
The two Rinzai lineages that Genryo has trained in are closely related. Meido Moore Roshi’s lineage is through So’zan Miller, Roshi; Dogen Hosokawa, Roshi; and Omori Sogen Roshi. Shodo Harada Roshi’s teacher was Yamada Mumon Roshi. Yamada Mumon and Omori Sogen trained together as dharma brothers under both Seisetsu Roshi and Bokuo Roshi at Tenryuji.
